We will be in Hebrews for the rest of October. Hebrews is one of my favorite books to study. As I have studied, I notice that there are two distinct parts of Hebrews. In part 1 (Hebrews 1-10:18), the writer tells us who Christ is – the fulfillment of God’s promise to His people. Then in Part 2 (Hebrews 10:19-13:25), the writer of Hebrews tells us why we should have confidence and assurance because of who Christ is and how we are to respond to the salvation we have in Christ. I am sure there are many other ways to break the book down, but this two part break down is simple and hits at the central theme of Hebrews – Christ’s is the Messiah (part 1) and we as his people have assurance and confidence because of who He is and should live accordingly in response the salvation we have received through Christ (part 2).
